Stop Asking for the Kornit Breeze Price First

If you're shopping for a Kornit Breeze and the first question out of your mouth is 'what's the price?' you're doing it backwards. I don't say that to be clever. I say it as someone who has approved enough purchase orders to know that the sticker price is not the cost.

I'm an office administrator for a 45-person contract decoration company. I manage equipment and supply purchasing—roughly $1.2 million a year across 20 vendors. The mistake that changed how I buy

But what about DTF? Or a lower entry price?

DTF is a legitimate process for certain jobs—transfers, hard-to-print fabrics, small runs that need a transfer look. DTG is a better fit when you need direct-to-garment prints without a transfer layer, especially on cotton.

The point isn't that DTG is always better. The point is that you should compare complete production costs, not base prices. A white DTF printer can be a great addition to the right shop. But the same TCO logic applies: ink, film, powder, labor, and downtime all belong in the calculation.

My advice: calculate TCO before you ask for the quote

So, for anyone who wants to know the Kornit Breeze price or the Kornit Presto price: yes, ask. But ask after you have a model of how the machine will run in your shop. Ask for service intervals. Ask for ink yield. Ask for installation and training. Ask how long a replacement printhead takes to arrive. Then compare total cost per printed garment.

I've made the expensive mistake of buying on sticker price. Once was enough. Total cost of ownership is the only way to compare production equipment—and the only way to avoid the conversation where you explain to finance why the cheaper machine ended up costing more than the one you didn't buy.
