The 34-Hour Rescue: When a 'Cheaper' Vendor Almost Cost a Client Their Gala

Laser printers use toner powder and a fuser roller that melts it onto the paper. Pages come out warm. They're faster for text-heavy work. The quickest way to check which one you own: look at the cartridge. Liquid ink means inkjet. Powder means laser.

Neither prints on fabric. Direct-to-garment printing is basically an industrial inkjet system built for textiles. It uses water-based inks that bond with the shirt fibers, and it manages the white underbase that keeps colors vibrant on dark shirts. That's the job our Kornit Atlas handles every day.

The same logic applies when you're choosing production equipment. A machine that's 10% cheaper but can't hold tolerances at 2 AM is the most expensive machine in the shop.
